Senior Consultant, Energy and Transportation

Consulting | REMOTE | Full Time | From $115,000 to $130,000 per year

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced Senior Consultant to lead and support projects focused on modeling energy demands and emissions in the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation-specific energy use and emissions modeling, rail and road freight transportation knowledge and industry experience, and freight data modeling. This role involves working closely with multivendor teams, senior client personnel, and project staff to deliver solutions; performing modeling and simulation; writing technical reports; leading business development and proposal writing; engaging with external stakeholders; and leading R&D project management.

Your Impact

  • Lead and manage projects in the energy and transportation sectors, focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and optimizing energy use
  • Provide technical expertise in energy use and emissions modeling for freight and intermodal sectors
  • Work closely with senior client personnel and project staff to define needs or problem areas, design appropriate solutions and alternate approaches, and negotiate scopes of work
  • Manage the development of solutions and deliverables, ensuring overall project success and delivering expectations
  • Direct activities of team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Contribute to business development efforts, managing government and private sector projects and proposals

Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree is preferred
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience in the energy and transportation sectors
  • A demonstrated understanding of GREET (US DOE’s Greenhouse gases, Regulation Emissions, and Energy use in Technologies), or similar models
  • Proven track record in business development and project management in relevant subject areas
  • Exceptional research, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple medium-sized projects simultaneously
  • Current authorization to work in the US
