The opportunity
FACTOR, INC., a leading provider of risk management solutions for government and industry, is seeking a Full-stack Software Engineer to join our team. As a Full-stack Software Engineer, you will work remotely within a team of developers to create exceptional software solutions for our clients in the risk management industry. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with a range of experts to design and implement software solutions that meet the vital needs of our clients in public safety and security. Your impact
- Develop high-quality software solutions for our clients in the risk management industry
Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum environment to develop engaging web applications that support situational awareness, analytics, and decision making
Translate designs and wireframes into clean, well-tested, and scalable code
Solve problems and implement technical solutions in a self-driven work environment, including designing and writing code, creating unit tests, and identifying and resolving bugs
Transform complex datasets into data-driven, web-enabled charts and dashboards
Build reusable components and libraries for future use
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our development processes
Support team adoption of emerging trends and technologies in software engineering
Required education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline; advanced degree a plus and can count toward experience requirement
0-2 years of web application development experience or contributions to open-source projects
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Self-motivation and the capability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end web development technologies, including React, Typescript, C#, ASP.Net, and REST Web Services
Familiarity with unit testing and test-driven development using Jest and NUnit/xUnit
Legal eligibility to work within the United States

Highly desired skills and experience
Understanding of N-Tier development and separation of concerns concepts
Familiarity with GIS programming such as ArcGIS or Leaflet
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Experience with DevOps practices (e.g., continuous integration/continuous deployment, infrastructure as code)
Proficiency with other front-end and back-end web development technologies (e.g., Angular, Vue.js, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python, GraphQL)
