Evy’s Tree is a fast-growing, startup, fashion e-commerce company that designs, markets and sells high-end hoodies and other apparel items. Located in beautiful Sonoma County, Evy’s Tree work culture is best known for flexible schedules, creative and enjoyable work setting, competitive pay, and clothing discounts. 


We are seeking an AP Bookkeeper who is detail-oriented, well spoken and can work in an evolving, start-up environment.  This person will manage our daily cash flow, accounts payables and factory payments for Evy’s Tree, working closely with the owner and our production team to keep financial communication open with our vendors and on budget. The AP Bookkeeper will also be responsible for keeping us up to date with the daily QuickBooks journal entries. The AP Bookkeeper is not responsible for end of the month reporting or payroll, however making sure that Evy’s Tree stays on budget with daily expenses is an important function of this job, so some budget reporting will be expected. Tracking sales and profit margin is also expected and vital for our budget needs. Furthermore, the AP Bookkeeper is essential to the financial success of our company by keeping the relationships with our vendors healthy and up to date, so they should be a team player that excels in strong written and verbal communication, organization  and orderliness. While the majority of this work will be done in house during work hours, a very small amount of communication with vendors will need to take place after hours and on weekends. The role will report to the CEO of Evy’s Tree.


The ideal candidate will have experience working with accounting and bookkeeping in a company that is heavy with account payables and vendor communication. Strong written and verbal skills are required and flexibility in both spirit and plans are a must. Evy’s Tree is an online store, so experience with ecommerce is preferred; understanding of technology, microsoft office and google suite is necessary. This role will be essential to the future success of Evy’s Tree and will be responsible for the stability of the company. The candidate will also be comfortable working in a startup environment with the ability to pivot quickly, be creative and execute strategic initiatives. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


Under the supervision of the owner(s), this position is primarily responsible for carrying out the following:


  • Partner with owners on cash flow management

  • Ensure all relevant data is captured each month through reconciliations and analysis of systems that generate the data.

  • Communicate with factories and vendors on payment terms and payables

  • Control financial plans and cash flow accordingly

  • Post monthly journal entries and accounting transactions.

  • Accounts payable

  • Assist production team with production financial needs

  • Generate budgetary reports which detail production budgets and payables, as well as sales goals and profit margin

  •  Other functions and project related work as needed


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS


The ideal candidate possesses: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred but not required.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the finance/accounting function of a small business.

  • Expertise in QuickBooks Enterprise

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Business Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and business intelligence tools.

  • Detail-oriented paired with solid technology and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with online apps such as Slack, Shopify, and Stitchlabs is preferred.

  • Strong  working knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to communicate with vendors accordingly.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Highly organized and detail-oriented.

  • Proven self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
