Everplans is on a mission to help people better prepare for the future by getting their lives organized today. 

We're an NYC-based startup technology company recently acquired by National Guardian Life Insurance Company (NGL) that helps people organize, share, and keep all the critical information, wishes, and documents they need, and that their family may need, up-to-date and at their fingertips. Through a combination of original content, a personalized guidance engine, and an intuitive digital vault, people can say goodbye to sticky notes around the computer, old file folders underneath the bed, and out-of-date paperwork.

Everplans is primarily distributed via financial professionals to their clients, through insurance and financial services organizations to their policyholders and customers, and as a benefit employers can offer their employees. Our soon-to-be-released mobile app will augment our user offerings and will be available to both our B2C and D2C customers. 

About the Position

Reporting to the company’s Co-Founders and Co-CEOs, the Director of Operations provides a breadth of support from managing essential tasks that keep the company running, to working on financial projections and modeling to help propel the company to future growth and profitability.

This will be the perfect job for someone who is well-organized, possesses a strong attention to detail, and can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You should be a self-starter, comfortable with owning projects from start to finish and proactively providing insights to management. The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity about how the parts of the whole come together to make Everplans a great product as well as a great place to work. As a team, we strive to support one another in all that we do and we look for candidates who enjoy working cross-functionally.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in a career path that could lead to a VP of Operations role.  

What you’ll do day-to-day

  • Oversee operations for both our remote workspaces and small onsite office

  • Manage vendors and contracts across multiple areas of business

  • Work with co-CEOs to develop and manage the company budget and pro-formas

  • Liaise between the Everplans team and the finance department at NGL

  • Evaluate pricing and sales commission models

Requirements

  • 5 + years of operational experience in an organization where you had to wear many hats

  • Experience working with a small company that saw significant growth over 1-2 years

  • A background in finance, accounting, or comparable hands-on experience

  • Strong skills/experience with budgeting and spreadsheet modeling

  • The ability to work well in a cross-functional organization

  • An entrepreneurial mindset--you should be comfortable managing both high-level initiatives, as well as daily tasks that keep the company on track


Our offices are located in the Union Square/Flatiron area (though we are currently fully remote). The position includes full benefits (medical/dental/vision/401K), and competitive compensation. Location is flexible.
