Job Description:

The Associate, Investor Relations and Strategic Alliances is to work as part of the IR & Strategic Alliances team, reporting to and under the guidance of the director of the department. They will focus on maintaining investor relations and managing inquires, developing strategic alliances globally on a business development level, and preparing public marketing materials. They will also be responsible for conducting in-depth market analysis, identifying strategic alliances, maintaining business partnerships, and developing and executing strategic business plans. In doing so, they will analyze the biotech industry, identify key players, and initiate discussions with potential business partners or collaborators. They will need to acquire and leverage biotech industry experience and knowledge to be able to perform their duties. In addition, they will support the CEO and certain operational needs of the Legal Department, including contracts management and Legal financial reporting management.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, evaluates, and reports new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances, and/or joint ventures opportunities to senior management for strategic business decisions.
  • Conducts due diligence analysis for strategic projects identified, constructs persuasive business cases, and makes recommendations to senior management.
  • Researches, analyzes, and assesses competitive landscape and commercial environment pertaining to the biotech industry, with a focus on the international market for potential cross-border transactions. Monitors and presents market analytics between United States (US) and China and supports the development of strategic business plans in both territories.
  • Designs, prepares, and maintains corporate presentations and other forms of communication materials for potential and current business partners and investors.
  • Manages corporate public relations (PR) programs, including press releases, social media accounts, company website, and PR-related phone/email correspondence.
  • Acts in the capacity of CEO’s Executive Assistant, including but not limited to calendar management, event coordination, meeting preparation, travel arrangements, task and logistics prioritization, and serves as the liaison between the CEO and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains and updates the shareholder database to ensure accurate records, while managing effective communication channels with the existing investor community to provide timely updates and information as needed.
  • Oversees and champions the corporate contract management system and manages the confidential material disclosure workflow. Ensures company-wide compliance by conducting employee training sessions and enforcing task adherence.
  • Leads the legal billing review and management process by collaborating closely with Finance and Legal teams to guarantee timely and accurate expense reporting, invoice approval, and accrual reporting. Engages and manages external contractors as part of the task force to support these efforts.
  • Maintains the External Disclosure Clearance (EDC) workflow and database. Conducts preliminary reviews of EDC requests and disclosure materials.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or in a related field.
  • Previous experience in biotech and/or startup environment is preferred. Experience in business development, sales, or finance is a plus.
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. Some programming skills is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and in team settings, after being trained.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment of scientifically driven biotech with limited resources.
