About this Role

You will continue to lay the groundwork for building a world-class finance function, and establish business processes that align with our strategy, meet our current needs, and create an infrastructure that is flexible and scalable as we grow.

Reporting to the CEO, you will manage all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, audit, taxation, treasury, and the refinement and development of internal controls, policies and procedures.

You’re an analytical and operational finance mind who has experience building departmental functions and processes from the ground up. You’re an excellent problem solver, a hard worker, and partner closely with the executive team to understand business needs and proactively provide the data, reporting, and analysis necessary to drive the business forward.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Oversee the company's annual & monthly close process and design, implement and maintain streamlined process and policy to enable accurate and timely financial reporting

  • Develop and maintain a streamlined, dynamic budgeting and performance tracking system that clearly aligns departmental inputs and activities with company-wide financial goals, facilitating real-time decision-making and promoting the achievement of desired outcomes

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and reporting of US financial analysis, KPIs and financial statements for Management, Board of Directors, Investors and Banks

  • Lead the budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts. Work closely with department heads to develop budgets that support the company's strategic goals. Regularly compare actual results with forecasts and budgets, adjusting as necessary.

  • Monitor and manage the company's cash flow on a regular basis, including weekly cash projections. This involves understanding the timing of cash inflows from sales (including the nuances of payment plans for diamond orders) and cash outlays for COGS, operational expenses, and supplier payments.

  • Build strong operational processes & controls to most effectively manage AR & AP to ensure we are collecting cash on time, paying vendors on time, while maximizing our terms and managing cash through diligence AP & AR process design

  • Serve as the company's expert on technical accounting matters (US GAAP), partnering with other departments on structuring policies and designing robust internal control processes

  • Provide financial analysis and support to operational decisions, including analysis of supply chain costs, internal vs. external diamond growth costs, and other operational expenses. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Offer strategic financial advice to executives to support decision-making. This could involve analyses of investment opportunities, cost-benefit analyses of new projects, and risk management strategies.

  • Provide direct support to senior executives and cross-functional partners to ensure a seamless flow of financial management information around the business

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax preparers, and other financial service providers. Ensure that all financial reports are prepared in time for audits and that taxes are filed accurately and on schedule.

  • Help administer our cap table management tool, Carta, and be responsible for periodic 409a valuations

  • Improve automation; responsible for evaluating, selecting, implementing and managing financial systems and software including ERP, Billing, Close, etc

  • Manage annual external financial statement audit process

  • Manage and coordinate all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

  • Oversee banking relationships and manage the company's investment strategy to optimize cash reserves and earnings

  • Provide partnership and support in fundraising by preparing investment materials, decks, and gathering, organizing, and maintaining due diligence materials

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high performing and collaborative team and drive a culture of positivity and opportunities for long term growth

Must Have

  • Strong proficiency in US GAAP

  • Startup experience / ability to be resourceful

  • Experience with supply chain / manufacturing finance with inventory

  • Detail oriented and excellent at process design

  • Adept with technology & setting up automations & controls within key systems like Quickbooks & Bill.com

  • Excellent at building models that can be used for sensitivity analysis / decision making (vs static reporting)

  • An enthusiastic and proactive problem solver with an ownership mindset

  • Passionate about Eterneva’s mission to bring brightness & meaning to loss

Preferred

  • Experience negotiating and modeling out manufacturing lease financing facilities

  • Experience going through a venture capital raise

  • FP&A experience

  • Experience at a big 4 accounting firm a plus

  • Experience with Salesforce
