As our Senior Staff Engineer, you will be an individual contributor and report to Episource’s Engineering Manager. This role is open to individuals in North America and South America only. It is a remote, full-time, work-from-home position.

How you will make an impact at Episource:

  • Lead the way. Bring your best engineering philosophies, practices, automation techniques, and frameworks to Episource. As an Episource Senior Staff Engineer, you will be a pivotal contributor to developing one of Episource’s premium products, Episource Analyst.
  • Partner with a passion. By partnering with Episource’s leadership team, product owners, and fellow senior engineers, you will elevate and transform not only the performance of your team but Episource products, in particular, the Episource Analyst risk adjustment platform.
  • Collaborate and coach. Provide mentorship and thought leadership throughout the team, guaranteeing accurate and effective code. Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale to maintain high standards of code quality.
  • Leverage your love for code. Empathetically review code, elevating the team’s performance and, ultimately, Episource products.

What your journey at Episource will look like:

  • In your first three months at Episource, you will be a key contributor to your team and begin understanding the department’s processes.
  • Throughout your next six months at Episource, you will actively participate in cross-functional discussions and decision-making and establish yourself as a subject matter expert within the organization.
  • By the end of your first year at Episource, you will lead technical initiatives and work with team leads and other staff+ engineers across the department to establish rational development processes.

What you will bring to the Expert Teams at Episource:

  • Strong experience in web application development
  • Working knowledge of design patterns / anti-patterns, event-driven, and cloud architecture
  • Working knowledge of microservices architectures.
  • Working knowledge of highly scalable distributed and cloud-native databases.
  • Proficiency in building applications with TypeScript or another modern C-style language
  • Good working knowledge of React, Node.js, GraphQL, SQL, and current CI/CD pipelines
  • Nice to have experience with event sourcing toolings such as AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka
  • Strong communication skills
