Position:  Nightlife & Event Security

Location:  310 E Michigan - Suite 504 Kalamazoo, MI 49007

Status: Immediate Opening

The Entertainment District is made up of 8 venues on 6 floors in over 55,000 sq ft, located in Downtown Kalamazoo. The district offers - live entertainment, special events, private events, hotel suites, sponsorships

Job Description

Security Personnel are responsible for ensuring the safety of our guests as well as an exceptional customer experience with friendliness and product knowledge. The individual is responsible for upholding all liquor control laws related to liquor control and the fire department regulations.

General Duties

  • Carding Customers.

  • Enforcing Dress Code.

  • Upholding Liquor Control Laws.

  • De-escalating altercations with customers.

  • Cross Promoting Venues. 

  • Directing customer to other venues within the Entertainment District.

  • Bussing and general cleanup throughout the night.

  • Ensuring customer safety.

  • Treating all guests with respect, regardless of how they are treating you.

Requirements

  • HIGHLY dependable.

  • Great attitude.

  • Positive work history.

  • Experience working in high volume nightlife environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • A positive attitude and well kept appearance (no tattoos or piercings)

Schedule

  • 15+ hours per week - Thursday through Saturday night (8:00pm to 3:00am shifts)

  • Holidays and Special events.

Compensation

  • $8.90 to $12.00 per hour based on experience, with gradual increases.
