Hours: Full time (day)

Required Clearance: Top Secret / SCI (CI Poly Preferred)

Required Certification: DoD 8570.01-M compliant at Management or Technical level II

Location: Springfield, VA

Experience: 7-10 years within related field with minimum 6 years of experience in heavy web development work role using SharePoint, and minimum 4 years of experience in graphical design including usage of PhotoShop and InDesign.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience within related field, or additional years of experience in lieu of degree

Position Description and Responsibilities:

Information Technology Web And Multimedia specialist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Develops content, and maintains associated systems for agency internal and/or external web sites, including sites hosted on classified networks.  Plans, designs, and performs content enhancements and/or updates to websites.  Recommends best practices, develops guidance and content standards, and ensures best practices and quality standards are met and maintained.  Designs and builds web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.  Uses a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.  Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements.  Contributes to the design group’s efforts to enhance the appeal of the organization’s online offerings.  Designs the website to support the organization’s strategies and goals relative to external communications.  Requires knowledge of web-based technologies including browsers, ASP pages, HTML code, object-oriented technology, and graphics software. Ensures website content is current, accurate, and reliable.  Ensures websites are available to desired audience with appropriate links and security designed into system and maintained.  Provides advice on strategies to maximize available content on distributed servers.  Installs, configures, operates, and advises on the acquisition of multimedia equipment, and supporting media products.  Provides technical support for meetings, conferences, teleconferences, video-teleconferences, and multimedia projects supporting public relations objectives and strategic objectives of the government office.  Provides remote-access training via video teleconferencing, and video production.  Plans, executes, directs, and edits multi-media project productions in support of government customer task requirements and strategic objectives.

  • Translate OCIO’s information content into a functional website using SharePoint software. This will entail working closely with the client at the web development and design.
  • Map and outline the OCIO SharePoint site structural and design content.
  • Design and maintain a SharePoint site which is visually effective, functional and easily accessible.
  • Test the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions.
  • Maintain and create new SharePoint website pages for OCIO using a variety of platforms.
  • Design graphic campaigns for various communication products to include but not limited to briefing charts, brochures, and publications.
  • Coordinate with Agency programmers and developers to ensure compliance with NGA policies.
  • Update current information on the web pages, incorporate changes as directed by the Communications Team Lead, and troubleshooting and fixing errors on the website. Provide graphical design for various communication products to include but not limited to briefing charts, brochures, and publications.
  • Develop web pages in a combination of codes such as HTML, JavaScript, ColdFusion, SharePoint, Flash, Dreamweaver, Visual Studio and Photoshop.

Required Experience:

Thorough knowledge of electronic publishing and structured authoring software (e.g., HTML and XML languages) to include desired familiarity with Framemaker, and SGML. Graphic design or multimedia production experience. Thorough knowledge of basic web design principles. Proficiency with web publishing software and protocols (FTP, HTTP). Familiarity with relational databases such as: Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, SQL Server. Familiarity with SQL and CGI scripting.

  • At least 6yrs of experience in heavy web development work role using SharePoint.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • At least 4yrs graphical design experience, including usage of PhotoShop and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of various codes, such as HTML, JavaScript, ColdFusion, Flash, DreamWeaver and Visual Studio.
