Applications Developer (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Chantilly, VA

Hours: 0900-1500 (900 a.m. to 300 p.m.) Monday thru Friday.

Required Clearance: ***Candidate must have a TS/SCI with Poly***

Job Description:

The successful developer will be supporting a wide variety of Sponsor applications. This individual will also be supporting ongoing O&M efforts and new efforts as they arise. The developer will join a development team building web applications and web services that integrate heavily supported security-centric business processes. Responsibilities also include software deployment, versioning, and troubleshooting of bugs in existing applications. There is an opportunity to work with a wide variety of contemporary technologies to solve an array of technical challenges. The developer will be required to support quick-turnaround efforts and work well in a fast-paced development environment. The developer will participate in all phases of project life-cycles, including requirements gathering, software design, implementation, and user training.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with full life-cycle software development
  • Demonstrated experience with Java, J2EE design and development using Spring or Grails
  • Demonstrated experience creating web services with SOAP or REST interfaces
  • Demonstrated experience and strong knowledge writing database queries and procedures with SQL or PL/SQL
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Databases with Hibernate or GORM
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying applications with Apache Maven, Subversion and/or CVS
  • Demonstrated experience translating customer and system requirements into web services or applications.
  • Demonstrated experience writing UNIT tests with JUnit
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to write development related documents
  • Demonstrated experience with XML, HTML5
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodology
  • Demonstrated experience with Apache Tomcat (preferably configuration)
  • Demonstrated experience developing software that integrates with X.509 certificates (User, Server, and Application certificates)
  • Demonstrated experience with corporate Linux infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience with JSP/Servlets, JQuery, ExtJS

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience with Apache ActiveMQ
  • Demonstrated experience with Rules Engine (DROOLs, jBPM) and Workflow software components
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of C++
  • Demonstrated experience with Visual Studio
  • Demonstrated experience with personnel security business processes
