What You’re Applying For:
Edmunds is seeking a front-end focused, full-stack Senior Software Engineer to join our Shopping Experience Team. Our Shopping Experience team is at the heart of vehicle discovery, powering our inventory pages and connecting shoppers with our dealer partners. As a member of this team, you'll directly impact how millions of users navigate the complexities of car buying, helping them find their perfect car through building innovative solutions that leverage Edmunds' trusted data to deliver a best-in-class automotive marketplace.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with product owners and designers to build modern, accessible, high-converting webpages
- Implement A/B and multivariate tests to learn what works best for users
- Brainstorm and problem-solve with your team to develop thoughtful solutions
- Diagnose and improve front-end performance with a focus on Core Web Vitals
- Engage in front-end and back-end Communities of Practice to share knowledge and stay current
- Partner with back-end engineers to define APIs to support the front-end needs
- Analyze traffic and performance metrics to identify and improve site speed
- Optimize shopping pages for search engines to drive organic traffic
What You Need:
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience building web applications with React and Redux
- Experience turning mock-ups into accessible web interfaces
- Experience optimizing front-end performance in the browser
- Experience using observability tools to uncover insights, identify performance bottlenecks, and investigate unusual traffic behavior
- Strong communication skills across various digital platforms and collaboration tools
- Ability to work in a large, shared codebase with frequent commits across multiple products
- Curiosity about the full technology stack and a willingness to learn beyond the front end
Nice To Haves:
- Experience building server-side web applications with React
- Experience with Databricks and New Relic
- Experience with Java, Python, Node
- Experience with cloud services, specifically AWS
The compensation range for this position is $137,000 - $189,000 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
