Regional Sales Director - Southern California

Job Description

From a Southern California-based location, the Regional Director manages a group of Account Executives who consult with, support, and sell Edmunds’ dealer products to automotive retailers in the Southern California areas. The Regional Director ensures consistent results, sets best-practices, and assists in the sales and support activities of the Account Executives who are responsible for consulting with dealership management and Internet department staff regarding on-line best practices.  The Regional Director is expected to be hands on to meet established objectives in their territory for market penetration, customer retention and customer satisfaction. As a representative of the Edmunds.com brand in the marketplace, the Regional Director must not only be professional and talented, but they should also have a healthy respect for automotive retailers and a passion for making car buying better.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage a team of Account Executives and have responsibility for all activities and results in a designated region, including prospecting, relationship development, sales, ongoing online marketing consulting, and customer support
  • Cultivate an effective team and develop individual team members to ensure goals are achieved and the Edmunds brand is upheld
  • Provide in-depth analyses and reports regarding field activities and dealership progress
  • Provide written and verbal feedback to the product and operational teams on new product ideas, and/or suggested modifications to existing products
  • Ensure current dealer satisfaction by responding quickly and accurately to dealer problems, concerns or needs
  • Manage and monitor all contracts, as well as accounts receivable for the region

What You Need:

  • 7-10 years professional direct sales experience, 3 of which spent managing field sales representatives
  • Automotive and/or Internet experience required
  • Adept at business consulting, analysis and reporting
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Must be a motivated self-starter and have the desire to succeed in a fast paced rapidly growing company
  • Ability to work independently from a remote/home office, preferably in the Greater Southern California region
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Frequent travel
