Job Description

Ebates is looking for a forward thinking, manage-up QA rock star to own manual, regression and automated testing methods on our Universal Shopping Cart. Your knowledge of testing will drive USC product engineering, block and tackle prevention strategies, and testability across advanced quality control concepts. Our goal is to continually refine process and tooling while identify testing gaps to drive overall performance of USC. This is a full-time position which will be located in Beloit WI. and reports to the Universal Shopping Cart Manager.

The USC team’s QA engineer will manage, create and execute quality control tests across numerous product environments throughout various development lifecycles. At all times we must ensure product quality across mobile, desktop, and web distribution channels, driven by qualitative and quantitative  informed decision making.

As an integral part of our software development workflow, you will also team up with various stakeholders across San Diego and Beloit quality control process. This includes leading daily quality calls to transparently report on product and system status. You will have the opportunity to continually review and push testing requirements forward while reporting on defined quality assurance metrics.
 

Responsibilities

  • Own manual, regression and automated testing from the code repo upwards

  • Engineer and execute complex test automation scripts using open source tools

  • Identify, and ticket defects while driving engineering feature / defect accountability

  • Lead QA meetings with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Track and substantiate USC product performance with qualitative and quantitative data

  • Define testing requirements, specifications, and manage QA design documents

  • Provide objective QA feedback throughout product and development lifecycles

  • Create corrective action plans from baseline error rate tracking and regression test accuracy

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

 

Qualifications
 

  • Self starters welcome, pursuing or obtained a degree in computer science, OR 2 years in related ecommerce development

  • 2 years of experience owning QA within 10-15 member engineering teams

  • Demonstrable experience creating automated tests using Mocha with a Jenkins Framework

  • A deep understanding of common development tools such as: Git SCM, Jira and NPM

  • Experience creating complex SQL statements to drive quality metrics

  • Proven understanding of Agile Development Frameworks and team workflow

  • Comfortable in a fast paced multitasking environment where critical thinking is key

  • Familiarity with Javascript, Chrome extensions, and web scraping technologies
