THE ROLE
In 2025, Eat Real is aiming big — reaching one million students to double our impact in just one year. To make that happen, we need to attract and serve more school districts than ever before. That’s where you come in. We are hiring Registered Dietitians to assess select K-12 foodservice programs using Eat Real's standards and tools during the 2025–26 school year. Dietitians will report to the Senior Manager of Nutrition & Standards and collaborate closely with the Program Manager assigned to the same district, as well as other Eat Real Dietitians.
This is a remote, part-time contract role with varying hours throughout the contract period.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Responsibilities: Lead Eat Real Certification assessments for assigned school districts by:
Coordinating documentation collection and meetings with the district and Eat Real staff
Gathering and organizing menus, recipes, and related documents
Managing and verifying data in Google Sheets and other systems
Analyzing datasets to identify trends, errors, and insights
Summarizing findings in reports and visualizations
Collaborating with internal teams and data consultants to evaluate results and determine scores
Creating and presenting assessment reports to stakeholders
Supporting districts through follow-up actions and the Action Plan Phase
Conducting on-site visits as needed for document collection
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend scheduled check-in meetings with Eat Real team members & other RD’s throughout duration of contract
Offer feedback to improve assessment tools and processes
REQUIREMENTS
Registered Dietitian with knowledge/experience in K-12 school foodservice, with a detailed understanding of the USDA School Breakfast Program (SBP) and & National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
Familiarity with menu software systems and product specification sheets
Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides), Zoom, and Slack
Proven experience with data entry and data quality review.
Proficiency with Google Sheets (formulas, filters, conditional formatting, etc.).
Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret and summarize data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Able to work independently and meet deadlines
A self-starter with integrity, humility, a sense of humor, and a “get-it-done” attitude
Bonus Skills:
Experience with state-level K-12 Administrative Reviews
Knowledge of K-12 procurement and supply chain
A demonstrated passion for real food
Work schedule:
Up to 15 hours/week during peak periods
Flexible hours; fully remote
Total hours vary depending on district assignment
Must be available for scheduled meetings (via phone or Zoom) with advance notice
Ability to respond to written communication within 48 hours
Flexible to all U.S. time zones, with a preference for candidates based in or able to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) and Pacific Standard Time (PST)

COMPENSATION
This position is a part-time, remote contract position, paid hourly. Hourly rate is between $60-$80, commensurate with experience. Hours will vary throughout the contract period, with the potential to renew. District travel (if applicable) will be reimbursed.
