Position Summary:

Duchesne Academy seeks a passionate and experienced Middle School Girls Tennis Coach to lead and inspire student-athletes during the tennis season. The coach will be responsible for creating a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment that supports the school’s values and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead all practices with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.

• Teach tennis fundamentals including proper grip, footwork, stroke technique, and game strategy.

• Organize and manage team logistics, including practice schedules, match lineups, and transportation coordination.

• Promote a supportive team culture aligned with Sacred Heart values.

• Supervise students during all team activities, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.

• Communicate clearly with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding expectations, schedules, and performance.

• Maintain and inventory team equipment and supplies.

• Attend and supervise all matches, tournaments, and required school athletic events.

• Follow all school and league rules, safety guidelines, and code of conduct policies.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching and/or competitive tennis experience required; experience with middle school students preferred.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to model and instill positive character traits and sportsmanship.

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the season).

• Commitment to Duchesne’s mission and values as a Sacred Heart school.

• Must pass all background checks and comply with school safety requirements.

Season Information:

• Season Duration: February – April]

• Practice Times: Typically after school hours

• Matches: Weekday afternoons with occasional weekend tournaments

Compensation:

• Compensation is based on a seasonal coaching stipend, commensurate with experience and determined by Duchesne Academy’s policies.
