Job Summary:

The Manager, Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies and initiatives in support of DOD’s strategic objectives.   The manager leads a team of recruiting professionals responsible for full-cycle recruitment and ensures strong, collaborative working relationships with hiring managers throughout the organization.    


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment team

  • Manage employee performance and provide coaching, mentoring and feedback; conduct ongoing and annual performance reviews

  • Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and development activities

  • Oversee daily workflow of the department; make adjustments as necessary to ensure individual and departmental objectives are met


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans for corporate and professional positions

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies in support of DOD’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives

  • Leverage internal and external networking to build strong candidate pipelines in support of future growth and staffing needs

  • Ensure strong working relationships with hiring managers; partner with new hiring managers to educate and guide them through the talent acquisition process

  • Lead employment branding initiatives; partner with marketing to develop and place external content 

  • Develop recruitment campaigns and evaluate effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness

  • Develop sourcing plans to fill open positions; partner with operational leaders to anticipate future needs

  • Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes 

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience

  • Develop and implement monthly and ad hoc reporting; utilize data and metrics to support new or redesigned initiatives

  • Develop career fair strategies and implement for corporate and professional positions 

  • Maintain industry recruitment knowledge 

  • Travel 10% of the time (recruitment shows, team events)

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience in full cycle recruiting, sourcing and branding

  • Experience in healthcare recruitment

  • Proficient in the use of social media, shows and job boards

  • Experience with ATS and databases

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Time management skills 

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate

  • Ability to function in a high stress, fast paced environment

Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of of full cycle recruitment experience

  • High school diploma required
