Licensed practical nurses (LPN) - Remote

Job Description

The LPN will work in the Phone Triage department and serve as the liaison between the physician, care team and the patient. They will give safe and competent clinical care to the patients of Doctor on Demand. The Employee must have a current license with their state Board of Nursing, additional multi-state licensure may be required in other states which Doctor on Demand will facilitate.

Essential Job Duties

  • Follow standard protocols for triaging patient calls, obtain appropriate information from patient and relay information to Physician or Care Team by phone call, email and in EHR

  • Act as Patient Advocate for Obtaining, Relaying and Interpreting the Physician’s Instructions and Orders for Medical Care and EHR per RNA Policy

  • Assist in filling prescriptions and prior authorizations for medications

  • Schedule appointments for patients when necessary

  • Responsible and accountable for the accuracy and organization of patient charting

  • Experience administering medications, monitoring and documenting in accordance to standards in EHR

  • Work in our proprietary electronic health record to review lab results and notify patient of results

  • Interface with patients via telephone and answer inquiries in alignment to CDC guidance

  • Maintains professional demeanor and service-oriented patient focus to prioritize the patient experience

  • Possess the ability to multitask, and using best judgement when to seek additional input from leadership

  • Special projects, initiatives, and other job duties as assigned


  • Work the shift of Tues-Saturday 2pm - 11pm PST

  • Completion of an accredited LPN degree, Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Current LPN or RN license in state of residency

  • Must possess excellent verbal communication skills

  • Must have experience working in an electronic health record system or have previous database experience

  • Proficient computer skills and phone skills

  • Must be able to work independently remotely
