About the Job

The Analytics Engineering team is responsible for building, maintaining, and advancing the strategic agenda of business intelligence and data analytics at Doctor On Demand.

Doctor On Demand relies heavily on data from internal and external sources to provide insights and analytics to stakeholders inside and outside the business. This role will support that effort by working closely with analysts, product engineering, and other business partners to ensure reliable access to data, insights, and business intelligence platforms. This will include data integration, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and development in BI software.


  • Support business intelligence and analytics data, landscape, and architecture:

    • Develop data transformations and models that support the requirements of analytics and other business stakeholders

    • Build and maintain SQL scripts and functions to process data into target data structures

    • Build and maintain ETL/ELT jobs in Pentaho and other data integration tools

    • Utilize scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc) to orchestrate data imports and exports

    • Monitor and address issues with platform performance, uptime, and availability; Including outages and query performance tuning

  • Support inbound, outbound, and internal data integrations:

    • Gather and guide requirements to create data integration services with internal and external partners

    • Create processes to load delimited, JSON, and API data into data warehouse

    • Create solutions to eliminate repetitive workflows and data quality issues

  • Support business intelligence platforms and services:

    • Build and maintain data modeling within Looker and other business intelligence interfaces

    • Monitor and address issues with performance, uptime, and availability

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with engineering and other business teams

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Expert SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)

  • Expert in database management concepts (PostgreSQL preferred)

  • Expert in ETL/ELT data integration concepts and tools such as Pentaho and SSIS

  • Strong architectural knowledge and ability to establish reliable, efficient, and quality data structures

  • Python experience

  • Development and administration experience within  BI Tools such as Looker and Tableau

  • Creativity and ability to solve common and uncommon data challenges

  • Experience with Linux servers and Bash scripting

  • Ability to think critically and creative to develop solutions in collaboration with stakeholders

  • Django experience desired

  • Machine learning experience desired

  • Artificial intelligence experience desired
