Sales Engineer

We have a great opportunity for a Sales Engineer to work closely with our Sales teams, to support sales presentations and meetings, script and build personalized demos, lead technical and integration discussions, and assess prospects readiness for our products. This important new role will report to our VP of Sales with dotted line to co-founding Head of Product and will work closely with our sales, services, product and customer success teams.



  • Partner with sales to qualify opportunities and align key customer stakeholders

  • Provide deep understanding Directly products, working closely with sales to resolve critical technical issues

  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFPs and Information Security requests

  • Demonstrate the value of Directly through customized product demos

  • Provide direct feedback to Product Managers and Engineering to help define new customer-driven features and determine roadmap priorities

  • Present technical and architectural concepts to a variety of audiences, including developers, architects, and IT professionals



  • 4+ years pre-sales experience within enterprise SaaS buying environments

  • Experience defining new features or solutions to solve customer needs

  • Familiarity with Javascript, HTML, CSS, web technologies and APIs

  • Experience successfully demonstrating and articulating value of SaaS products

  • Ability to influence both technical and executive audiences

  • Savvy presentation and demonstration skills, fluidly translating complex technology concepts

  • Passion for data and analytics, a philosophy of using technology to help solve business problems

  • Excited by fast-paced startup environments

  • Strong technical writing and project management skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with a focus of Computer Science or related work experience

  • Available for 25% travel
