Network\IT Security Specialist

Job Description

On behalf of our client who is a leading retailer based in Milwaukee, we are recruiting for a Network\IT Security Specialist. The Network\IT Security Specialist will  be responsible for managing, monitoring, auditing and updating information security policies, as well as network-connected systems including but not limited to, telephone systems, network switches, access points, routers, firewalls and United Threat Management. 


  • Maintain all network systems including switching, routing, firewalls, UTMs, access points, cellular failover, monitoring and proactive maintenance
  • Develop and enforce network configuration policies
  • Maintain all telephone systems and connections including both digital and IP phones and network-connected PBX systems 
  • Research and implement more efficient associated technology solutions that meet the needs of the business
  • Manage the information security strategy of the company
  • Develop information security policies, procedures and applicable training materials to ensure compliance
  • Work with the IT training team, operations and HR to deploy and enforce all required training, policies and procedures
  • Ensure PCI compliance as the company’s certified internal security assessor
  • Identify and mitigate potential points of failure, inefficiencies, security vulnerabilities, redundant and deprecated communicated methods between systems
  • Verify the integrity of all systems integration working with stakeholders in each system for confirmation
  • Identify new ways to integrate systems

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing large distributed networks including working with distributed control and monitoring systems of various makes and models
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with integrating several systems, both similar in architecture and disparate
  • Independent and advanced troubleshooting experience of complex outages and rogue issues
  • Basic network protocol understanding
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to travel between locations as needed

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience with low-voltage cabling, MySQL & MS SQL database experience, Sencha, information security management and ERP systems preferred
