Contract Technical Project Manager

Join DS, a connected experience design company, as a Technical Project Manager on a contract basis. The contract will last at least 3 months and is on a team that is developing groundbreaking digital products for an impressive list of diverse clients. 

What you’ll do:

  • Be the liaison between the client and the agency

  • Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, budget/ongoing project forecast of resources and materials and other project related artifacts

  • Continually identify, prioritize and mitigate project risks

  • Manage project profitability; take personal responsibility to complete projects on time and on budget

  • Tracks scheduled progress and ensures that the project work is completed according to set deadlines and milestones

  • Effectively manage client expectations and client objections; fully understanding what can be completed within the client's budget and timeline

  • Translate interactive strategy and brand requirements to actionable concepts

  • Create weekly status reports for all projects managed

  • Explain technical specifications and issues in an easily understood way for non-technical users

  • Develop accurate and detailed project plans for a variety of projects

  • Coordinate and communicate details of client meetings, including agenda development, scheduling and travel arrangements

  • Oversight of interactive project development, process and resource management, and participation in strategic development of projects

  • Focus on efficiency and financial profitability of projects

  • Accountable for project planning and scope (goals, budget, schedule)

  • Manage job through completion, reconciles budgets, and closes out elements in storage

What you bring:

  • 4 - 6 years of experience and be capable of leading large-scale integrated and interactive projects

  • Basic background knowledge of Web front-end (e.g. site usability and look/feel) and back-end (e.g. programming and hosting) practices is essential

  • Experience with mobile applications, software development and content management systems

  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile project management

  • Intimate understanding and working knowledge of web technologies  and languages such as Wordpress, CraftCMS, PHP, MySql

  • Skilled in using project management applications (ex. Trello, Asana, Mavenlink)

  • Fundamental understanding in programming or reviewing code

  • Project documentation samples are required (SOW, Schedule, Project Plan, etc.).
