The Systems Manager will participate with key users in working groups to plan, prioritize, design, and roll out all finance-related systems, including accounting, forecasting, contracting, billing, revenue recognition, procurement, and expense reimbursement. The position will also be the primary Finance liaison with Engineering on our internal billing platform. This role will have a broad view of processes, controls and reporting across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with financial and CRM software and processes and should have the skills and passion for designing solutions that combine third-party and custom software to support financial operations.

Our Systems Manager will play a pivotal role in scaling and automating the processes to support the high growth of Dialpad. A critical attribute will be working with key users to identify needs and potential alternatives, as well as focus on integrations between systems.

We are seeking someone who possesses great attention to detail, has a strong understanding of accounting, finance and sales processes and a high aptitude for working with cross-functional teams to drive accurate and efficient results.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the trajectory of the business and then in connection with key users in working groups document a dynamic multi-year roadmap of financial systems needed to support high growth of a SaaS company

  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of financial system projects/changes, facilitate prioritization at regular meetings, and communicate backlogs and schedules to stakeholders

  • Working with key Finance and Engineering personnel, participate in billing development queue prioritization to address process needs and prepare for business growth

  • Recommend and help design changes to our financial business systems, including configuration changes, changes to integrations between systems, and software changes to in-house systems

  • Communicate designs changes both verbally and through diagrams, with thorough and clear specifications

  • Perform user acceptance testing on new and changed functionality, tracking enhancements and issues to improve accounting and finance processes

  • Triage escalated issue reports from users, responding with workarounds and/or specifying fixes to be carried out by Engineering team

  • Build and maintain internal resources for users of systems, including overview documentation, training documents, and videos (if needed), and knowledge bases of common issues

  • Participate with key users in working groups to evaluate proposed new systems for implementation, select vendors, and implement new systems including a potential new ERP in the next year

  • Create business cases to get approvals to fund various projects

  • Maintain a working understanding of all of business systems, including both third-party and in-house systems, and how they interact with financial systems

  • Maintain a working understanding of the business processes including quote-to-cash, billing and collections, procure-to-pay, payroll and financial reporting

Requirements

  • Strong grasp of concepts and processes in accounting and finance including contracting, billing, payments and A/R, procurement and A/P, general ledger, revenue recognition, planning and budgeting, financial reporting, audit

  • Strong grasp of B2B SaaS software and how it’s configured and deployed to support business processes, including demonstrable successful experience in implementing and optimizing financial products like Salesforce CPQ, cloud GL packages (Intacct, NetSuite), cloud billing systems, Expensify, Bill.com, Xactly, ADP, etc.

  • Strong project management skills

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing internal and third-party resource to deliver small and large projects

  • Flexible, fast learner who thrives in a dynamic work environment

  • Ability to work productively in teams with people from many disciplines, including: sales, operations, finance, legal, engineering, and IT

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills

  • Sound judgment for driving prioritization on decisions based on business impact

  • At least 8 years of work experience, including substantial experience working with corporate financial processes

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field, or equivalent work experience
