Junior Visual Designer

Job Description

UberConference is a new visual audio conferencing service with a visual interface that took home first prize in the Battlefield competition at TechCrunch Disrupt.  Funded with $18M from Google Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, UberConference solves the most common problems faced in teleconferencing including making a conference easy to join, knowing who is participating, knowing who is speaking, and making advanced features easy to use.

We're a small team, obsessed with elegant design and efficient solutions to big problems. We like making things. We are looking for a junior visual designer with problem-solving skills to join our growing team.

What you’ll be doing

  • Create pixel perfect design quickly for web, print and digital assets with a steadfast focus on conveying the personality of the company through everything you create.

  • Designing marketing materials including banners, flyers, presentations and internal collateral.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop strategic direction as well the product team for variety of projects.

  • Conceptualize, design, and implement a broad range of projects from large scale designs to spot graphics and promotions extending the visual language.

  • Interact with the UX design team, including interaction designers, information architects, writers, and editors employing a consistently high standard of user-centered design.

  • Share in the creation, maintenance, and implementation of our design guidelines

What we’re looking for

  • We are looking for highly motivated and skilled designers to join our team.

  • We care deeply about design and are looking for someone who shares our obsession with elegant interfaces and delightful user experiences.

  • Well-versed in fundamental design disciplines and principles.

  • Solid portfolio of contemporary designs. Web/mobile work is preferred but not required.

  • Illustrator (and all things vector) master and Photoshop expert.

  • Expert eye for detail and elegant typography.

  • Experience working closely with product managers, visual designers, and engineering teams.

  • Experience managing multiple projects, and thriving in fast-paced, startup environments.

  • Ability to set up files of various types for final print production

Good to have

  • Ability to prototype your work via HTML/CSS/JS or native code

  • Proficient with Adobe After Effects and InDesign

  • Experience with video production

  • Experience with modern web and mobile applications, and a strong understanding of the design requirements for output to be displayed across phones, tablets and personal computers.
