Head of Design

Job Description

We’re looking for an amazing Head of Design.  Funded with $18 million from Andreessen Horowitz and Google Ventures, our core product is disrupting the teleconferencing business.  A key to this has been our design.  We look for designers who can work on designs that are cross platform, that are responsive, clean, and tell a story. Our service leverages elegant UI on web and mobile clients to transform an industry that hasn't seen real innovation in decades. In the year since we won first prize at TechCrunch Disrupt NYC, we've grown dramatically. and have a truly amazing pipeline of new services planned.  And our recent integration with Google Hangouts has been an enormous hit.   And beyond that, we've got an amazing pipeline of new services planned.



  • Amazing at fundamental design concepts such as but not limited to: typography, color theory, grids, hierarchy, spacing, kerning, etc…

  • Continuously keeping up with groundbreaking methods of design while maintaining a high level of quality and keeping true to our identity.

  • Work with product and design team to develop innovative, scalable user experience throughout the UberConference’s product line. Manage projects, coordinate tasks, track resources.

  • Maintain a comprehensive digital library of all assets for distribution within the company as well as press and partners.

  • Create and improve creative workflow processes, protocols, and tools.

  • Push creativity and explore new ways to craft unique solutions that reflect and evolve our brand

  • Resolve conflicts calmly and constructively



  • A great attitude and sense of humor is a must

  • Experience working collaboratively with user experience designers, visual designers, developers and executives to build great user and brand experiences

  • Excellent time management skills; ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

  • Understands the constraints of online design and optimizing images for web

  • Knowledge of visual design fundamentals including brand identity, layout, color, typography and voice for both web as well as print.

  • Ability to understand capabilities and limitations of web technologies in communication with engineering

  • Experience bringing various stakeholders together to plan, build and launch products

  • Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization -- from individual contributors to executive staff
