Your challenge:

As a Business Development Rep, you will work in conjunction with the sales and marketing organizations to discover, develop, and deliver qualified prospects to the Account Executive Team. This is a junior level sales position, ideal for candidates who are interested in developing a lucrative career in the information services or healthcare industries. The Business Development Reps are our prime talent pool for promotion into Account Executive roles.

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with appropriate team members to determine necessary strategic sales approaches
  • Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts
  • Identify decision makers within targeted accounts and engage to identify incremental sales opportunities
  • Effectively apply sales principles to determine customer needs and help them visualize how to use Definitive to achieve goals
  • Understand Definitive’s product portfolio to communicate value to prospects/customers, including competitive advantage
  • Make outbound follow up calls to existing customers via telephone, email and social media to cross-sell and up-sell
  • Create and deliver qualified opportunities to Account Executives with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, etc.
  • Track and manage leads and opportunities via Salesforce.com
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers
  • Attend training sessions
  • Seek continuous learning: industry, product and sales knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Bright, energetic professional with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of initiative, creative thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Proven record of successful performance, exceeding quota through outbound sales activities
  • History of self-motivation and exceptional drive
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • High level of organization skills and the ability to juggle multiple processes with minimal supervision
  • Ability to influence and gain cooperation of others

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree
  • Desire to grow into a full-cycle sales role
  • Demonstrable PC literacy and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce.com
