DNS’s Scientific Computing department has broad responsibility for (i) development of novel bioinformatics tools to facilitate gene discovery, (ii) development of novel software methods to facilitate drug discovery, (iii) computational chemistry project support for structure-based drug design, combinatorial chemistry, and statistical modeling, (iv) integration of information systems and automation and (v) general IT infrastructure to support scientific research and company administration.
The Scientific Computing department at DNS is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance and Release Management engineer. DNS licenses software from third-party vendors, but also designs and develops custom software internally. DNS is looking for a person to develop processes and manage all aspects of deployment and testing of both internally developed and third-party software, as well as updates to infrastructure such as Windows, Linux, and Oracle databases.

- ChemAxon JChem Oracle cartridge and Instant JChem development environment
- KNIME Analytics Platform
- OpenEye VIDA and FastROCS
Recent and current internal software projects include
- Capture and report laboratory data
- Manage the request process for protein production and compound ordering
- Process transactional assay data into data marts
- Develop Excel and Spotfire plug-ins
- Create a computational services infrastructure
The ideal candidate will have experience building and deploying software on Windows and Linux servers, using Oracle databases. Specific experience with the application software and internal development environment used at DNS is a plus. Experience with scientific data is a plus. You will research and recommend software frameworks for testing services and GUIs. You will help developers create unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests for custom software. You will implement processes by which automated regression tests are run periodically against production systems, as well as before and after software updates to verify nothing has broken. You will manage the deployment process for both internally developed and third-party software, and coordinate the efforts of IT, developers, vendors, and information management staff, to minimize the impact on end-user scientists.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma. Applicable software certifications a plus. Minimum 5 years industry experience required.
