UX Engineer

About the position: 

CVHCare is currently Hiring a UX Engineer who can Build like an engineer and Think like a designer. Are you a storyteller passionate about translating business concepts into simple, compelling narratives? We are looking for someone who is ambitious and self-motivated to contribute to the Engineering team in CVHCare as a UX Designer. Ideal candidates have a passion for design, innovation and teamwork! Individuals in this role will collaborate closely with our Engineers to bring to life the vision of our Designers by developing concepts, prototypes and new experiences. As a UX Engineer, you’ll take part in implementing user interfaces, customer experiences, and interaction designs for our websites and internal tools. In this role, you’ll take on product requirements, wireframes, design comps, and user flows, and contribute to transforming them into production-ready interfaces and interactions. As a member of the development team, you’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers, to implement new features and improve existing ones. You’ll use your skills to ensure the latest quality standards and best practices for UI and UX implementation.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders within a multi-disciplinary team to gather and evaluate design requirements and translate those requirements into high-quality visual solutions.

  • Analyze the content domain, build scenarios and use cases and craft design specifications for the product.

  • Conceptualize, design and develop user interface designs, components, elements and assets.

  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.

  • Producing design documents that explain your design - Prototype ideas, experiences and scenarios. Realize product concepts into visually compelling application designs.

  • Create models that form the theoretical foundation for great solutions: workflow diagrams, flowcharts, storyboards, personas and other models.

  • Create low-fi sketches and wireframes to establish the rough direction.

  • Create low-fi designs, precise, hi-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes for phased user testing.

  • Develop and maintain pattern libraries

  • Support developers through the development phase.

  • Collaborate with and accept feedback from the design, product, QA, and technology teams

  • Be responsible for communicating project status and deliverables with managers and team members in clear, concise terms

  • Conduct usability testing and research across multiple versions of various browsers, platforms and devices. Deliver meaningful insights from data-rich sources. Identify and troubleshoot UX problems based on qualitative data and feedback.

  • Assist in designing and building experiences for customer presentations

  • Balance great design with business goals and meeting tight deadlines

  • Understand UI/UX best practices and drive improvements in designs and methodology. Keep up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science with emphasis on UI development

  • Minimum of 5 years web development experience and crafting user experience solutions.

  • Strong UI design portfolio featuring examples of visual and interaction design work.

  • Extremely high skilled HTML, Angular and or other front-end technologies

  • Strong understanding of interaction design patterns related to web and mobile design

  • Experience in Flutter

  • Experience in designing, marking up, developing the UI of websites and/or web applications

  • Front-end skills and understanding of how back-end development works; Tying in services, etc.

  • Solid markup skills utilizing HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

  • Practical exposure and/or experience with: jQuery, JSON, AJAX, ANGULAR Styling: CSS.

  • Experience with more advanced JS frameworks (e.g. React) is a plus

  • Expert level understanding of the HTML DOM and underlying event model

  • Knowledgeable in caching concepts and awareness of performance bottlenecks in web application development

  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills in both technical and business environments

  • Demonstrates creative, technical and analytical skills

  • Passionate about delivering beautiful, functional, and usable user interfaces

  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask with strong prioritization, time management, planning, and organization skills

  • Works well with a team, and collaborates well with other teams

  • Self starter, Hard-working, ready to learn, able to work independently, and can handle multiple projects under minimal supervision

  • Ability to design and articulate the concepts in a clear, concise manner 

  • Must be dependable, positive, and open-minded 

  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
