Veterinary Area Manager: Las Vegas Position Summary
Curo Pet Care is seeking an experienced and driven Area Manager to support the operational success of multiple veterinary hospitals in the Las Vegas market. This role is ideal for a proven veterinary leader with small scale multi-site experience or a Practice Manager who has successfully led a large, complex hospital with significant team leadership responsibilities.
The Area Manager will serve as the acting Practice Manager for one designated hospital while providing operational leadership, coaching, and support to up to three additional hospitals. This individual will partner closely with Doctor Partners, other Practice Managers, and work with regional leadership to drive exceptional patient care, client experience, team engagement, and financial success of their portfolio.
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Las Vegas, Nevada, requiring regular travel between assigned hospitals. The Area Manager will serve as the Practice Manager for one primary hospital while providing leadership and operational support to up to three additional locations. Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a multi-site environment and are expected to spend approximately 30%–40% of their workweek on-site at assigned hospitals outside of their primary Practice Manager location. The remainder of the workweek will be spent supporting operations and leading the team at their primary hospital.
Key ResponsibilitiesHospital Operations
- Serve as the primary operational leader for an assigned veterinary hospital.
- Support operational performance and leadership development across up to three additional hospitals.
- Drive accountability for hospital goals, KPIs, budgets, marketing, and financial success.
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, OSHA guidelines, and operational standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, client experience, and team engagement.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop hospital leadership and support teams.
- Partner with your RDO to mentor and guide Practice Managers and Doctor Partners.
- Support performance management, employee engagement, and talent development initiatives.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, patient access to care, and client service.
Financial Management
- Monitor revenue, labor, inventory, and operating expenses.
- Analyze hospital performance metrics and develop action plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Partner with Regional Leadership to develop and execute business strategies.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning efforts.
Medical Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Medical Directors to support hospital success.
- Maintain alignment between operational and medical priorities.
- Support implementation of clinical initiatives and hospital growth strategies.
Multi-Site Leadership
- Provide operational oversight and leadership support across multiple hospital locations.
- Assist with hospital openings, integrations, leadership transitions, and special projects as needed.
- Ensure consistency in processes, culture, and client experience across assigned hospitals.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 6 years of veterinary hospital leadership experience.
- Experience managing a large team in a veterinary hospital, minumum of 20 direct reports
- Demonstrated success leading large teams and managing direct reports.
- Strong understanding of veterinary hospital operations, staffing, scheduling, financial management, and client service.
- Ability to travel regularly between hospital locations within the Las Vegas market.
Preferred
- Experience managing multiple hospital locations.
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) designation.
