Job Description

Horse Trainer & Barn Manager — Private Estate Role

Largo, FL | Full-Time | On-Site

This Is Not a Competition-Only Trainer Role

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Horse Trainer & Barn Manager to oversee the daily care, training, and management of horses within a private estate environment.

This is a hybrid role for someone who is equally comfortable in the saddle and in the barn — combining horse training, riding instruction, and full barn operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining structure, consistency, and high standards in all aspects of horse care and training.

Your Mission

To ensure that all horses are well cared for, properly trained, and maintained in a structured, calm, and consistent environment, while keeping barn operations organized and running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide daily feeding, care, and overall management of the horses

  • Clean and maintain stalls, tack areas, and all barn-related spaces

  • Monitor horse health, behavior, and condition consistently

  • Coordinate veterinary, farrier, and equine care services

  • Manage turnout and daily barn routines

  • Provide regular training, exercise, and conditioning for the horse

  • Deliver riding instruction and support to the owner

  • Maintain a calm, structured, and consistent training environment

  • Track supplies and proactively communicate barn needs

  • Coordinate closely with the Estate Manager to ensure aligned operations across the property

Who You Are

  • Experienced in horse training with a strong practical foundation

  • Comfortable performing daily hands-on barn duties, including cleaning, feeding, and general maintenance

  • Reliable, consistent, and detail-oriented

  • Calm, grounded, and confident in handling horses

  • Professional and discreet in a private estate environment

  • Genuinely care about animal well-being and quality of care

Preferred Background

  • Formal equestrian training or certification

  • Experience in private estates, ranches, or boutique equestrian environments

  • Experience teaching or coaching adult riders is a plus

What Makes This Role Unique

  • A hybrid position combining training, instruction, and barn management

  • Direct involvement in a private estate setting

  • Close collaboration with estate operations (Estate Manager role)

  • Opportunity to create consistency and structure in a growing environment

Schedule

Full-time, on-site
Approximate hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00/6:00 PM (aligned with horse care routines)
Some weekend flexibility may be required

Important Consideration

This is a physically active role that requires regular riding and hands-on work.
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the role, including riding and handling a medium-sized horse.
