To support our company’s rapid growth, we are hiring an Real Estate Analyst to join our Marketplace Operations Team. The Real Estate Analyst will report directly to the Marketplace Manager. We are looking for someone that is smart, driven, and excited about online commercial real estate investing.  

What You Will Be Doing:

As a Real Estate Analyst, you will support the Investments Team for the CrowdStreet marketplace. You will use your financial and commercial real estate (“CRE”) background to review and prepare content for the launch of new investment offerings on the CrowdStreet marketplace. In this role, you will collaborate with the Investment Managers and members of the Marketplace Operations Team. Common tasks performed as part of this role include:

  • Analyzing potential marketplace offerings and assisting the Investment Managers in the review of deal and Sponsor related due diligence, as well as, communication with sponsors and clients

  • Analyzing and building complex real estate financial models in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create cash flow projections, valuation models and sensitivity analysis with minimal supervision

  • Reading and reviewing real estate documents, including operating agreements, private placement memorandums, appraisals, leases, and third-party reports

  • Developing professional content describing real estate offerings and deal terms

  • Gathering and evaluating economic, demographic and real estate market data

  • Assisting the Investment Manager in reviewing and managing due diligence documents throughout the screening and production process

  • Drafting and publishing offering updates

  • Ensuring offering accuracy

  • Communicating with internal and external Team Members.

What We Must Have

The ideal Real Estate Analyst will possess the following characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s level degree, concentrated in finance, accounting, or real estate;

  • 2+ years of experience working in CRE private equity, capital markets or investment banking;

  • Full knowledge of analytics and qualitative factors crucial to CRE analysis are imperative and the candidate must be able to review models conceptually and participate in the review of partnership documents;

  • Experience underwriting potential office, retail, industrial, hospitality, and multifamily investments for both income-producing assets and development opportunities;

  • Ability to be self-directed and actively seek out information and resources to complete assignments effectively and efficiently;

  • Proven ability to lead internal and external teams to complete project tasks and track statuses;

  • Experience working as part of a team to collaboratively achieve bold project objectives;

  • Strong ability to express oneself verbally and with written communication;

  • Proficiency in reviewing financial models for CRE projects of all types;

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and process;

  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven environment;

  • Willingness to learn and be a great teammate; and

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Not Required, But Nice to Have

It would be nice, but not required, for the Real Estate Analyst to possess the following characteristics:

  • Proficiency using HTML and CSS;

  • Experience structuring equity waterfalls;

  • Experience sourcing, structuring, and closing institutional real estate transactions;

  • Experience with Argus, CoStar, Real Capital Analytics, or other CRE software programs;

  • Strong understanding of the real estate capital raising process, including knowledge of Regulation D offerings, such as 506 (b) and 506 (c); and,

  • MBA, MRED, JD, or other advanced degree
