QA Engineer

To support our rapid growth, we are hiring a QA Engineer with a passion for testing modern web applications built as microservices.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and execute on initiatives and process that improve product quality.

  • Work closely with product managers and developers to understand the product roadmap and product specifications to help determine the right test strategy.

  • Assess complexity in writing tests (functional, integration, system, performance, scalability, resource leaks), provide estimates and identify risks in timely completion.

  • Liaison with the Automation Team in moving repetitive manual tasks to automation.

  • Create test cases and test suites that reference stories and bugs.

  • Test our platform that enables investors to evaluate investment opportunities, complete an online investment transaction workflow, build a real estate portfolio, track investment performance and chart returns.

  • Participate in bug triage meetings to review incoming bugs, work w/ key stakeholders in understanding incoming tickets. Be an active participant in assisting w/ background grooming and retrospectives.

  • Build and Maintain Smoke Test Suites (and test cases) that cover core areas of the product. Effectively communicate coverage. Update every release w/ feedback from stakeholders and dev owners.

  • Build and Maintain Regression Test Suites (and test cases) that maximize product testing coverage. Effectively communicate coverage. Update every release w/ feedback from stakeholders and dev owners.

What We Must Have

  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear test plans

  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile team w/ frequent context switching

  • Experience testing B2B and B2C applications.

  • Good working knowledge of Atlassian tools - JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket

  • Good understanding of Test Case Management tools - e.g. qTest, TestRails, Zephyr, etc

  • Experience w/ using Postman in testing REST API

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Knowledge of Linux

Not Required, But Nice to Have

  • AWS (i.e., ELB, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS, RDS PostgreSQL)

  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines

  • Scripting
