Summary

The Senior Vice President, Finance – Markets Business Partnering serves as the primary strategic finance partner to the Markets President. This executive is responsible for driving financial performance, operational rigor, and disciplined decision-making across the Markets organization. The Cresa Markets organization is the primary Transaction Management and Accounts portfolio brokerage business of the Cresa organization.

The SVP, Finance provides oversight of the shared services finance model, with direct accountability for the performance, alignment, and development of regional and local finance teams. This leader ensures the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of financial reporting while establishing scalable processes and strong internal controls across all markets.

This role is highly visible and requires a proactive, forward-looking finance leader who can translate financial insights into actionable business strategy.

The successful candidate will possess a solid knowledge of process improvements relating to all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets and general ledger. The position involves building and motivating a strong finance and accounting team and developing strong relationships with local office leaders and internal finance and corporate partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior financial advisor to the Markets President and leadership team, influencing strategic planning and operational decisions.
  • Lead the shared services finance function, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and alignment across regional and local finance teams.
    • Primary interface with local offices on all finance and accounting matters
    • Standardize regional / field finance and accounting process
  • Establish and maintain robust financial processes, reporting frameworks, and internal controls to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial information.
  • Drive the annual operating plan (AOP) or budget process in coordination with FP&A and oversee quarterly reforecasts, providing clear variance analysis and forward-looking insights.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, proactively recommending solutions to optimize performance.
  • Lead continuous process improvement initiatives across all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger.
  • Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting organization.
  • Foster strong partnerships with local office leaders, corporate finance teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Provide M&A support and transitions for new offices and teams
  • Coordinate effectively with the CFO, Controller, FP&A lead and Head of Corporate Development and Strategy
  • Coordinate effectively across all corporate functions

Qualifications

Required:

  • Demonstrated strong technical accounting and reporting expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of internal controls, process improvement, ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability to see what needs to be done, take ownership of objective and follow through on initiatives to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leaders, proactively build cross functional relationships and communicate clearly within all levels of organization and share with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate accounting and cross functional team members with passion and clear vision of goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive for business results with sense of urgency and commitment to timelines and goals by supporting team members, provide resources, and develop creative solutions.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years business finance experience
  • Management experience in high growth multi state organization
  • Advanced Excel knowledge required
  • Advanced accounting skills/knowledge required
  • Experience in commercial real estate preferred
