JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the Groomer is to provide top notch service by responding to customer requests and handling the animals with a gentle hand. Our focus is professionalism, being friendly and helpful while catering to our patient's and client's needs. Candidates must also be independent workers, self-starters, able to effectively utilize down-time and multi-task, maintain an impeccably clean facility, follow instructions, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; both amongst staff members, clients and veterinarians.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide bathing and customer service as instructed
- Interact professionally and effectively with all clients
- Perform basic grooming services on dogs and cats
- Assist with generating and developing the grooming business
- Complete daily duties for maintaining work area
- Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
- Ensure department cleanliness and safety by sweeping, mopping, etc. on a regular basis
- Move animals and merchandise up to 50 pounds
- Assist other areas of the hospital
- Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer
- May be required to cross train and perform other duties
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-year experience at a professional grooming salon or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be friendly, outgoing, and people-oriented
- Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
- Ability to complete computer-based training
