The successful candidate for this position will be working with an engineering team based in San Diego, California. We are looking for the right candidate, whether that person will work out of the San Diego office, or remotely from home within the United States. Many CoSo Cloud employees work remotely, and the company has a well-established culture of supportive collaboration with remote employees. A remote employee in this position would be expected to travel to San Diego periodically – roughly once or twice per quarter once established – to collaborate in-person with his or her engineering peers

 Job Description

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Deliver Responsive Web Design based applications
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of JavaScript and the advanced JavaScript library ReactJS
  • Experience with Marionette.js, Highstock and Django is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser and cross platform compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of Linux development environments.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, build tools such as Jenkins and development environments such as Eclipse
  • Experience with web client test methods and tools
  • Must have eligibility to work in the USA.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years working experience in software UI development.
  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and design abilities.
  • Willing to travel ~5%.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
