Senior Instructional Designer

We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to develop innovative solutions that support client organizational change. In this position, you will apply your advanced knowledge of learning to lead the development of eLearning, virtual learning, and instructor-led training solutions. You’ll also partner with clients to guide them to solutions that support their efforts to make their organizations more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Customize Learning Solutions
  • Design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain training products and services to include eLearning, virtual learning, and instructor-led training 

  • Use authoring and course development tools to produce engaging multimedia products 

  • Lead curriculum development on topics of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) by collaborating with subject matter experts and conducting research 

  • Partner with clients to develop custom solutions and adapt existing products and services 

  • Develop collateral for learning solutions (PowerPoint decks, participant workbooks, facilitator guides, etc.)  

  • Work with vendors and contractors on product development 

 

  • Strategic Consulting with Clients:  
  • Partner with clients to diagnose client needs through learner needs analyses and goal assessment 

  • Recommend a sequence of solutions that align with client need 

  • Serve as instructional design lead for business development conversations and proposals 

  • Build and maintain client relationships by consistently delivering exceptional content and service 

 

  • Operations and Implementation
  • Lead the development and updating of design processes and guidelines 

  • Support process updates for new products and services launch 

  • Partner with consultants and operations team to onboard delivery and sales teams to new products and services 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of experience in instructional design and development for multiple modalities 
  • Proficiency in multiple authoring and design tools (Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to develop interactive multimedia learning modules 
  • Familiarity with SCORM 1.2 and 2004, and xAPI eLearning standards 
  • Experience with distance learning and collaboration tools (WebEx, Zoom, etc.)  
  • Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and consistency 
  • Understanding of graphic design principles and experience working with graphic designers 
  • Ability to consult with clients, problem-solve, and build relationships 
  • Experience with organizational diversity and inclusion work preferred  
  • Ability to work full-time in our Silver Spring, MD office 
  • Relocation is not available
