The Marketing Manager role combines strategic insights, market data research, and measurable actions to attract potential customers and expand and retain opportunities with existing ones in support of our strategic plan. Cook Ross seeks a leader to build and develop our team and processes around this critical function. This position manages and coordinates marketing and branding activities, leads efforts to strengthen the company brand identity (as well as product lines and unique brands within the organization), guides and directs other marketing and event staffers in support of successful implementation of our strategy, and effectively reports on the performance of our marketing approach.

Responsibilities include:

Further develop, implement and manage the marketing strategy for the organization - 50%

  • Plan campaigns and develop communications material to promote products and services to current and potential clients and partners; 

  • Manage marketing budgets; 

  • Manage Events & Marketing Team members and external vendors in completing projects and activities as outlined in marketing plan;  

  • Leverage the organization's thought leadership, expertise and commitment by creating and implementing an editorial calendar, to potentially include social media, white papers, podcasts, speaking engagements, etc.  

  • Develop new partnerships and relationships across industries and help to deepen our existing ones; 

Oversight and management of key marketing and event programming - 15%

  • Update Cook Ross website (may include overhaul of existing layout and/or content) and manage on ongoing basis; 

  • Identify social media platforms to increase our presence on and measure effectiveness of  outreach and communication; 

  • Produce regularly scheduled online newsletters; 

  • Maintain accurate customer databases; 

  • Track and analyze marketing activity performance 

Cultivate and strengthen the Cook Ross Brand Identity - 20%

  • Lead and coordinate efforts related to Cook Ross’ brand identity including the look and feel of the website, collateral materials, videos, and other visual elements that reflect the brand for the organization as well as individual product lines 

  • Create valuable, engaging and easily shareable content for our online presence that supports our strategic goals  

Provide support on internal communications – 15% 

  • Prepare a strategic internal communications plan in conjunction with senior leaders; 

  • Assist with editing, writing and proofreading content to be used for internal communications; 

  • Coordinate timing of release of communications with company events and initiatives 


  • Strong preference for candidates with Bachelor's Degree, particularly in areas such as English, Journalism, Marketing or Communications. 

  • Demonstrated experience (minimum 3-5 years) developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns (experience marketing professional service or consulting firms preferred) . 

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our various types of content. 

  • Demonstrated experience and familiarity developing web content, preferably with WordPress and/or other web development platforms. 

  • Experience in conference/event/meeting planning and execution. 

  • Active and well-rounded professional presence in social media, with a command of each network and their best practices including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube. 

  • Strong interest in diversity, inclusion and cultural competency. 

  • Occasional travel required, typically 3-4 days in duration; flexibility in work start and end time, particularly on event days. 

  • Superior project management and time management skills.
