Internal Application: Database Developer (PgSQL)

Convo is looking to hire a Database Developer in the our core engineering team. 

Location: Islamabad, PK

Role Summary

The Database Developer will support application development team with objectives of database design, primarily PostgreSQL databases. S/he will be responsible for design, development, testing, implementation, release and maintenance of new and existing databases.  We are following a release management process which involves managing new and existing SQL script for product releases.

Requirements

•Bachelor/Master in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines from a reputable institution

• Good understanding of database implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance

• Must have strong SQL/PLSQL, PL/PgSQL queries, stored procedures writing skills that perform optimally in PostgreSQL with hands-on experience in PgSQL/Oracle/others.

• SQL Query optimization and performance tuning

• Maintain and develop new database objects (tables, procedures, functions, triggers, sequences, indexes, constraints etc.)

• Ability to handle large data sizes

• Independently analyze and solve issues in real time, providing problems end-to-end

• Modifying database according to application development team and client need

• Working to create functional requirements

• Provide technical assistance to other Developers as needed

• Solve database usage issues and malfunctions

• Process work accurately and in a timely manner

• Manage new and existing SQL script for release preparation

• Comfortable in Linux environment

• Comfortable with PostgreSQL/Oracle cloud managed instance.
