Data Platform Configuration Consultant

About the Role

As a Data Platform Configuration Consultant at Convo, you will play a pivotal role in bridging client business requirements with the technical capabilities of our SaaS revenue management platform. This position involves hands-on configuration, implementation, and technical leadership to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions for our clients in the consumer goods and enterprise sectors.

You will collaborate closely with both client and internal teams to ensure that our solutions drive measurable business value, support advanced data-driven decision-making, and meet project objectives.

Success in this role requires a combination of technical expertise, data science exposure, ERP system knowledge, and a consultative approach to problem-solving, configuration, and business engagement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Techno-Functional Expert, your role combines functional consulting and technical data management responsibilities with an emphasis on the following:

• Hands-on configuration of platform components, data structures, and workflows.
• Translation of client business processes into system design and configuration.
• Collaboration with technical teams on data integration, quality, and optimal flows.
• Leading workshops to gather and validate functional and technical requirements.
• Configure and document end-to-end solutions using the SaaS platform to meet customer business and technical requirements, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Analyse the data interfaces to ensure data aligns with ERP specifications, validating data against functional checks, and identifying business scenarios violated by the data
• Lead and guide technical and business teams across multiple projects, optimizing resources and promoting best practices.
• Provide expertise in the solution, clearly articulating configuration options and benefits to client business processes, leading discussions on RGM and tying these back to data insights.
• Driving clients in key configuration decisions in order to maximize business value from our platform
• Conduct workshops with client teams to gather, formalize, and challenge requirements, translating them into clear functional blueprints and configuration specifications, and ensure system configurations and integrations meet client requirements while minimizing customization
• Conduct gap analysis on client requirements versus standard platform capabilities, recommending configuration options or integration strategies.
• Ensure timely data availability, transformation, and enrichment through ETL pipelines and data integration workflows, focusing on data accuracy and usability.
• Strong understanding of data analysis tools and approaches
• Provide advisory input on data architecture, data models, and data integration points to enable analytics and reporting.
• Facilitate test script creation, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure solution quality.
• Provide technical governance and assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle, identifying and mitigating business and technical risks.
• Act as a bridge between client and product teams, providing actionable feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with data and integration engineers to ensure accurate data mapping and flow
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering skill development across solution design, data management, and ERP integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Data Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of experience in configuring and implementing ERP/SaaS solutions, ideally within the CPG or revenue management domain.
• Proven experience in data modelling and data integration.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and tools for data transformation and integration.
• Familiarity with Python including NumPy, Pandas and SQL, is a plus
• Experience with configuringERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Salesforce or equivalent enterprise platforms is a plus
• Strong analytical skills and a passion for data-driven process optimization.
• Experience in leading technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Fluent in English with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
