Program Assistant

Embedded Operations | Rocky Mount, NC | Part Time

Job Description

The Program Assistant will serve as the part time day to day contact at the Williford Family Resource center performing administrative and clerical duties, answering the phones and greeting clients.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and execute playgroup
  • Contact and keep records of playgroup families
  • Assist in fostering and maintaining community partnerships
  • Assist in distributing books to preschoolers for the “Books and Breakfast” program
  • Create flyers and spreadsheets as needed
  • Assist in coordinating events for the Williford Family Resource Center
  • Be willing to take training for parenting classes (Triple P and Parenting Partners)
  • Assist Williford Elementary School with clerical and proctoring duties as well as assisting teachers
  • Assist in cleaning the center to include kitchen, meeting rooms and restrooms
  • Assist in organizing the food pantry and clothes closet
  • Assist with answering the phone and assisting clients
  • Greet clients with respect and courtesy

 

Necessary Skills:

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Sensitivity to and strong concern for the needs of children, youth, and their families
  • Technologically proficient in all office software systems including but not limited to word processing, spread sheeting, and email
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and complete assignments in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere

 

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred in business, social work, education or counseling
  • 2 years of applicable work experience in the business or education field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with design software a plus
