The Director, Research and Implementation will design and implements evaluations of all initiatives and programs. He/she will creates research strategy and manages third party evaluators. The Director will contribute to building capacity for internal and external data collection and will analyze, interpret and report data for varied internal and external stakeholders. He/she will also serve as the project leader for research related programs including efforts in advancing implementation science.
- Use knowledge of research related to education, integrated student supports, youth development, and/or social, emotional, and academic development to develop organizational priorities and the research agenda.
- Build data collection and reporting capacity of local affiliates and state office by providing ongoing training and technical assistance for national Web-based database (CISDM), as well as all CISNC program data management systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with school districts where direct services are provide to assist in data access, collection, and analysis.
- Provide custom and standard reports about student attendance, enrollment, service delivery, outcomes, dropouts, demographics and other data for program areas, departments, network members, as needed.
- Support use of high-quality implementation across the network and initiatives, including, designing and implementing tools to ensure effectiveness of service delivery.
- Design and implement evaluations and surveys of multiple initiatives, trainings and programs, including establishing measurable outcomes.
- Analyze evaluation data and current news and trends related to dropouts, social emotional learning, college and career readiness and recidivism to establish trends and opportunities for system change and advancement.
- In partnership with Resource Development and Program teams, find new methods and approaches to sharing CIS data with the community to tell student and family stories.
- Advise, analyze, and interpret data, provide technical support for the research, evaluation, assessment and data sharing activities of other teams within the state offices and network. Including assisting with the affiliate end-of-year reporting process.
- Obtain and refine data from existing and new sources to enhance telling the CIS story with stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison for CISNC involving research, evaluation, data, and implementation science with staff at the affiliate and national levels.
- Lead Research and Evaluation expert volunteer committee to ensure CIS is abreast of innovations and using strong technique and practice for its work.
- Examine organization for network innovation and prepare implementation strategies.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences
- Two years’ experience in applied research setting.
- Excellent computer skills and technically proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Previous experience in a student data or case management system preferred
- Ability to express ideas concisely and clearly both verbally and in writing
- Effectively present complex information during training sessions, workshops and presentations for a wide range of audiences
- Ability to work across teams and with multiple stakeholders (internal/external teams, school district team, vendors and community partners)
- Experience with non-profit entity strongly preferred

- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- Must be willing to travel. Mostly in North Carolina (25% of the the time)
