Position Overview:

To that end, the Director of Network Training contributes to our mission by ensuring that CIS team members across the state, including site and program staff, operations and executive staff, and board members, are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be successful in their roles.

The Director of Network Training is a member of the Network Support Team who drives quality student supports and promote sustainable and strong affiliate operations. This team deepens the impact of CIS across North Carolina by training, coaching, and providing technical assistance to staff and board members across our network of affiliated organizations. This position focuses on supporting and facilitating the design of trainings using adult learning best-practices, developing necessary content and learning pathways, and delivering trainings, where required, to relevant stakeholders.

They collaborate closely with program leaders across our affiliated organizations and coordinates training support with CISNC team members and CIS National to ensure maximum impact.

The Director for Network Training plays a key role in executing our strategic plan and reinforcing CISNC’s culture of quality, innovation, performance, and continuous improvement. Working together, our staff and board are focused on the following critical outcomes:

  • The CIS network is widely recognized as a leader in high impact student supports, with strong relationships at the state and local levels

 Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for developing a sustainable, learning infrastructure that facilitates high-impact learning
  • Plan and coordinate the CISNC annual training calendar, ensuring alignment to NC network needs and with CIS National resources/trainings
  • Responsible for planning, designing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning pathways and trainings for site staff, program directors, and executive directors
  • Organize and facilitate trainings for state-wide evidence-based programs (e.g., Check & Connect, Motivational Interviewing)
  • Working with internal and external team members and partners, develop or support the development of content for trainings
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of the annual CISNC Conference
  • Designated point of contact for the CISNC network for resources and services offered by CISNC
  • Identify and implement technology platform for learning management
  • Seek new, innovative opportunities for advancing CISNC professional development training modalities
  • Develop and manage network of CISNC trainers who support delivery of trainings
  • Stay current on state and national professional development standards and best-practices
  • Promote the distribution of internal and external staff development opportunities
  • Manage internal and external training resources
  • Must maintain a high level of cognitive function to direct the operations of this strategic function
  • Travel: 50%
  • Ability to see, hear, speak and travel to conduct training sessions  

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5 years’ experience in program development, community organization, and/or public administration
  • 3 years’ management or training experience 
  • Technologically proficient in all office technology systems including spread sheeting, word processing, email and Zoom/Skype.

  • Based in the Raleigh, NC office 
  • Remote work at the moment with being in the Raleigh office twice a week. This is subject to change to full time in the Raleigh office.

Hiring range: starting at $47,400
