The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Staff Therapist to join our team at Collaborative CBT. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience with a passion for learning cognitive-behavioral therapy and for working collaboratively with clients to address their mental health challenges. This role will involve providing high-quality therapy, supervising staff therapists, and contributing to the overall growth of the practice. This is best suited for:
- LCSWs seeking experience and to advance their clinical skills in a private setting
- LCSWs who are interested in working privately, but don’t want to independently manage the administrative side of being in private practice
- LCSWs who want to work in a group practice environment with a community of other practitioners
- LCSWs who have experience with CBT and want to expand their knowledge base
- A therapist looking for community in the private practice sector, with opportunities for supervision and group consultation with other qualified therapists.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based cognitive-behavioral techniques.
- Conduct assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for clients with diverse needs.
- Supervise and mentor staff therapists, fostering their professional development.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the practice's growth initiatives.
- 10-15 minute phone consultations when requested
- Maintains case notes, logs and all required documentation within 24 hours of sessions held
- Participates in weekly individual or group clinical supervision and group consultation
- Case management services including care coordination, including collaborating with referral sources and connecting clients to care
Requirements:
- LCSW, LCSW-R, or LMHC
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting.
- Licensed to practice as a therapist in the NY (other states are beneficial but not required)
- Strong understanding of CBT principles and practices with desire for more learning
- Experience or interest in supervising or mentoring less experienced therapists.
- Commit to a minimum of 3 years with Collaborative CBT
- Education, training, and demonstrated success in providing CBT
- Comfort networking and marketing
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Be available to see clients on at least 1 weekend day, early mornings and evenings
- At least 3 years of experience in assessment, treatment planning, and providing psychotherapy
- At least 3 years of experience in providing individual, couples, and/or family therapy
- Must demonstrate basic understanding of CBT and how to implement it in session
- Organized and able to submit progress notes and respond to emails in a timely manner, and in accordance of Collaborative CBT policies
Nice-to-Haves:
- Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques (e.g., trauma-informed care, DBT).
- Experience in conducting workshops or training sessions for professionals.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly rate based on years of practice, licensure and status (full time of 25 hours per week or more has a pay increase available or salary option)
- Sick pay (accrued based on hours worked)
- Paid time off offered once seeing 15+ clients/week consistently
- Professional Development Stipend (Full time: $500/year)
