Responsibilities:
The Medical Scribe is a non-licensed member of the healthcare team whose primary responsibility is accurately documenting a provider-patient encounter in real-time. This includes the history of present illness, past medical/surgical/family and social histories, review of systems, physical exam, procedures, lab and imaging results, clinical course of the patient, diagnoses, disposition, and any other information pertinent to the encounter. Secondary to charting, the medical scribe serves as a workflow navigator, assisting the healthcare provider with workflow management and coordination of ancillary services. This is a non-patient care role.
Requirements:
- You must be a student currently enrolled in courses at John Wood Community College - Quincy, IL.
- Work in-person in an ER setting.
Other Information:
- We are seeking to fill one part time WEEKEND position that is available to cover the following shifts on CENTRAL TIME:
- 6am to 4pm, weekends
- 8am to 6pm, weekends
- 2pm to 12am, weekends
- Students will earn 1 hour of college credit per 80 hours worked.
Part time will be scheduled for 16-32 hours per week (two to three 8 or 10 hour shifts per week).
Full time will be scheduled for 30-40 hours per week (three to four 8 or 10 hour shifts per week)
An opportunity to earn additional pay is by participating in on-call coverage. While on-call, you are paid $1/hr. If called-in while on-call, you earn your standard base rate.
