Sr. Systems Engineer - Cloud Development

Type of Position: Sr. Systems Engineer

Codero Hosting is looking for an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer, who is passionate about cloud technologies, to work with current team members to engineer and deploy the next generation of Public and Private Cloud computing products and services at Codero.

The Sr. Systems Engineer will work in an entrepreneurial, scrappy environment focused on providing reliable Dedicated, Managed, and Cloud Hosting services worldwide. 



Assist in the development of Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Private Cloud (VMware), Hybrid and other company initiatives. Perform system administration of *nix systems and hypervisors including Xen and KVM. Development and platform certification of Private Cloud platforms based on XenServer and VMWare. Perform preventive maintenance on servers. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve causes of difficult server performance problems.




  • Knowledge of public cloud infrastructure environments like AWS, CloudStack, Google Cloud Services, and Microsoft Azure
  • 3 yrs experience with x86 virtualization
  • 5 yrs experience in a data center environment
  • 5 yrs experience with Linux / Unix / Windows / Network administration
  • 4 yrs experience with the KVM, Xen, XenServer and VMWare Hypervisors.
  • Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead colleagues and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Must be a self-starter


  • AWS or Azure certification
  • Strong experience with VMWare ESX Server (VMWare VI 3.5, vSphere 4.0 or higher)
  • Experience with storage arrays and SANs
  • Experience with server and storage replication
  • Advanced understanding of Internet networking connectivity technologies including firewalls, TCP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and load balancing.
  • Experience with selecting, deploying and integrating monitoring and management tools
  • Experience designing systems for scalability and fault tolerance
  • Experience with data center automation scripting / software development
  • Experience with PHP, Java, Python, Perl and/or C/C++
  • Security experience
  • Proven ability to improve operational efficiency by driving standardization and automation
