RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aligns an operational plan with security functional strategy and procedures

  • Proactively monitor and verify the integrity and availability of all network, applications and services in a 24x7x365 environment.

  • Coordinate resources and timetables with user departments and the technology group to complete projects on time and within budget.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve security strategies and procedures across all business units, and develop plans to address them.

  • Works with DevOps, Operations, and Engineering teams to define and refine information security and systems management policies and settings

  • Train/mentor other staff members in network technology and troubleshooting methods.

  • Respond to customer support requests as-needed related to networking problems.

  • Assesses and define vendor and 3rd party access to infrastructure through secure methods

  • Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and make recommendations to leadership concerning the introduction of new technologies

  • Review, prioritize and recommend information security improvements as they relate to the achievement of Codero’s business goals and objectives

  • Coordinate, administrate, manage and monitor the use of access control systems security tools and intrusion detection systems to identify anomalous events and security infractions that exploit system vulnerabilities

  • Integrates information security controls into an environment to identify risks and reduce their impact

  • Provides analysis of potential risk to information security and recommends solutions

  • Creates and maintains information security documentation

  • Communicates information security procedures to users

  • Reviews and recommends changes to information security policies

  • Designs, develops or recommends security systems solutions for the protection of proprietary/confidential data and systems

  • Provide network infrastructure support (deploy and maintain network hardware) to the team when needed

  • Drives for internal and external alignment of the strategy

  • Takes a leading role in strategic technical forums and meetings

  • Participates as required in strategic initiatives for improvements in process, quality, and cost

  • Direct the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

  • Manage the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.

  • Career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.

  • Other people manager duties as assigned


TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional experience working with Hosted, Cloud, Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, or companies like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, IBM, or cloud service providers. supporting Hosted, Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, or Infrastructure as a Service.

  • Professional experience in creating, deploying and administrating virtual systems within one or more of the following technologies: VMware ESXi, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.

  • Professional experience Racking, Stacking and Administrating Linux and Windows Servers.

  • Professional experience performing system backups and restores.

  • Identify and troubleshoot simple hardware failures on x64-based servers to include the replacement of failed hardware components

  • Troubleshoot simple operating system issues including the file system, disk management, and RAID technologies

  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve causes of server performance problems.

  • Ability to navigate through CLI

  • Able to locate, review, and interpret and review server errors and audit logs.

  • Able to troubleshoot complex technical issues through Chat, Phone, and Email.

  • Advanced understanding of networking technologies such as firewalls, TCP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and load balancing.

  • Strong understanding of most basic system administration tools and procedures; for example, BASH, MySQL, MsSQL, IIS, Apache, ProFTPd, Plesk, cPanel, and web control panels and ability to use backup programs, verify disk integrity and maintain system files (groups, hosts, aliases).

  • Gather necessary data for issue replication, problem determination and/or escalation.

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Java, javascript, Perl, Python, HTML, HTML5, XML, PHP, SOAP, REST, .NET, ruby, ruby on rails a plus.Passion for learning, developing, and improving new technologies.

  • Comfortable creating knowledge base articles for both internal and external use.


CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

  • Driven by a passion for customer success.

  • At least 4 years IT security industry experience and an understanding of the associated technology risks.

  • Experience with security technologies like Antivirus, Device Encryptions, HOST IDS

  • Working knowledge of UNIX, LINUX and Microsoft technologies

  • Hands-on network engineering experience with a focus on data center and/or network security

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and LAN switches

  • Working knowledge of Cisco ASA family of firewalls using the CLI to include remote access and site-to-site VPNs

  • The familiarity of load-balancer concepts and methods and standards

  • Expert-level knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, OSPFv2, OSPFv3, BGP, SNMP, HSRP, Spanning-Tree, and OSI networking models

  • Familiarity with virtualization, SDN concepts and other emerging network technologies and trends

  • Knowledge of one or more development languages (Perl/PHP/Python/C++/BASH) is highly desirable.

  • Expert knowledge of risk management concepts and strategies

  • Expert knowledge of systems and network administration i.e. desktop, server

  • Thorough knowledge of the Globally Accepted Information Security Principles

CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

  • CCNP, BCNE, or equivalent certification

  • Experience with Brocade, Cisco, or Arista hardware

  • Experience with MPLS/VPLS

  • Work experience in the hosting industry and/or work in a data center environment

  • Recent experience with Datacenter operations

  • Strong knowledge of log management tools

  • Experience with Zabbix, Salt Stack

  • Certification in one or more of the following:

    • Security+, CISSP, GIAC, SSCP or, CEH; Cisco Certified Network Associate, Checkpoint Cert.Sys.Admin and Checkpoint Cert.Sys.Engineer; Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
