Product Manager - Programs and Partnerships

Product Management | San Francisco, CA | Full Time

Job Description

About Us:

Coalition was founded by repeat entrepreneurs, Joshua Motta (Cloudflare) and John Hering (Lookout), and our mission is to solve cyber risk. We believe that cyber risk is among the most pervasive risks facing society, and we've built the first holistic solution to it by combining free cyber security tools to help prevent loss, expert response to mitigate it, and up to $15M of insurance coverage to recover from it. Our technology platform combines cyber insurance, threat intelligence, patch and vulnerability scanning, DDoS mitigation, ransomware protection, and more for businesses to be both proactive and reactive to managing cyber risk. Coalition’s team of engineers, data scientists, security researchers, incident responders, and insurance personnel protect customers before, during, and after cyber incidents. Our customers are in every industry, and all across the US. We are based in San Francisco, although you'll find some of our team in more exotic places.

If you enjoy solving problems at scale (with lots riding on it), then read on...

About the Role:

As a Product Manager at Coalition you will own one of the company's strategic product areas and business outcomes. You'll identify key problems we should solve, get feedback from key stakeholders, prioritize features to plan a roadmap, and work with Design, Engineering and Operations to build innovative solutions. A great product manager thinks creatively, has strong empathy for users, and has expertise in their domain. You'll be balancing different perspectives, making thoughtful decisions on trade-offs, and helping us build the right products for the right user at the right time.

Coalition provides our unique combination of cyber security tools and cyber insurance to give businesses a holistic approach to cyber risk. One of the key channels through which we reach our potential customers is through programs and partnerships. We work with a variety of partners ranging from associations of businesses to business-focused technology companies to enable us to jointly envision and build experiences that bring Coalition to businesses through these channels.

You will be identifying various partnership opportunities, working with internal stakeholders as well as with external partners to prioritize different opportunities. Once these partnerships materialize, you'll be envisioning the full product experience, driving technical scoping, and creating requirements to execute on the business, product, and technical side. Beyond individual programs and partners, you will contribute to our overall partner platform product and API vision that sets us up to scale this line of business.

We're still a small company and growing quickly, so there is considerable room to grow into this role.

Coalition operates in a regulated space (insurance), so in addition to efficiency and elegance, everything we do must be both secure and compliant. Our current set of customers are based in the United States, though we’re solving a global problem.

We’re not rigid about credentials, but here’s some notes on what we'd think would be a good fit:

  • You have a passion for technology and have 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager building software products
  • You can think big picture, but also can get your hands dirty to execute and get things shipped
  • You're able to navigate both internal and external stakeholders to communicate plans, ideas, and decisions with clarity
  • You feel equally comfortable informing technical / API design and building delightful user experiences
  • You prioritize and drive decisions, leveraging both qualitative research and quantitative analysis
  • You can lead independently and can own an outcome for the business
  • Experience working with external partners previously is a nice to have but not necessary

Coalition's culture is one that strongly values humility, authenticity, and diversity. We want to work with people of different backgrounds and different paths in life, and we trust our team members to take responsibility, share ownership and work for one another.

  • We have lots of excellent benefits and perks.  Check them out at

Coalition is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, sexual stereotypes, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
