Project Manager-Electrical (Utility Industry)

Location: Fort Campbell, KY

City Light & Power, Inc. (CLP) has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader, and we’re looking for a Project Manager-Electrical for our Ft. Campbell, KY location. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the United States, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems.

The Project Manager-Electrical works onsite at Ft. Campbell and oversees all aspects of the project, establishes deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors progress of the project. This is a collaborative position where you'll work directly with our client to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project team personnel and resources.
  • Enhance and maintain relationships with clients, engineering personnel, and consultants.
  • Compile reports regarding financial performance of the project.
  • Oversee cost control and change management systems.
  • Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award.
  • In coordination with Project Superintendent, develop and maintain site logistics plans.
  • Prepare trade contracts and bid packages with assistance from Estimating Team.
  • Will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of the project are compatible with CLP goals and client needs.
  • Oversee procurement process with Purchasing Department.
  • Track and balance resources across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Set-up QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
  • Work closely with Safety Director to communicate and enforce corporate Safety Program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:

  • Five to seven (5-7) years of project management experience required (construction or utility experience preferred).
    • Previous experience with City Light & Power may be substituted for project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to view time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to prepare construction schedules.
  • Must have excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required with the ability to delegate work appropriately.
  • Work successfully as a Team Player with various partners from start to finish.
  • Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • CLP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, paid time off, and holidays.
  • Salary range: $75,000-$95,000/year depending on experience plus eligibility to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
