ELECTRIC & POWER DISTRIBUTION INTERN

Location: Ft. Riley, KS

City Light & Power (CLP) is a company at the forefront of the modern-day electric utility industry. We support the Federal Government in the area of military installations and their electrical distribution systems, as well as with local municipalities in the area of street lighting systems.

In partnership with Manhattan Area Technical College, interns will work onsite at Ft Riley to gain experience related to their major:

• Pole change outs
• Transformers installation and replacements of both pole and pad types
• Installation and replacement of new primary and secondary underground lines
• Locating faults on underground cables
• Pulling in new overhead lines both primary and secondary
• Installing terminators on primary conductors
• Pole and line inspections Streetlighta
• Locates of cables for dig safe
• Tree trimming
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• Must be enrolled at Manhattan Area Technical College, earning academic credit for work experience related to the degree program.
• You must be a U.S. citizen.
• Able to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
