UI and product QA Engineer

We are looking for a UI and product QA engineer to work within our Quality Assurance team. You’ll work directly for the QA Manager to help develop and maintain our manual and automated test processes. We are taking a very design and customer focused approach to Quality Assurance, and this role will directly be testing our products inside of our customer’s products, so you will have a direct impact on the success of our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Review requirements and technical designs to provide timely and meaningful analysis of whether the software has been delivered to the requirements

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Work within our defect and user story tracking system (Rally),

  • Treat performance as a quality factor as well, testing the impact of releases on customer satisfaction

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with your QA Manager

  • Identify, record, document and track bugs to resolution

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Willing to do black box manual testing but highly motivated to employ UI test automation

  • Develop tools and processes to improve the quality, efficiency and completeness of tests

  • Coordinate testing with other team members, internal users and customers as required

  • Work with our customer success team to triage issues reported by customers before defects are submitted

About you:

  • 2-4 years of software QA test and development experience

  • 4-year degree, preferably in CS or another technical field

  • Experience with Javascript and some familiarity with other compiled languages like Java, C# etc.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Strong understanding of Rest APIs and test approaches

  • Adept at reading and understanding API Documentation

  • Extensive hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing

  • Agile/Scrum development process and with Agile tools similar to Rally or Jira

  • Familiar with bug tracking processes and test case management

  • Enthusiasm for “breaking stuff” - be highly driven to find bugs and help us develop the best products on the market

Working knowledge of the following:

  • A wide variety of Cloud technologies

  • Selenium

  • Javascript and NodeJS

  • Comfortable with Unix shell

  • UI and Server/Service Testing

Bonus points if you have:

  • Postman knowledge

  • SQL experience

  • JUnit/NUnit/JMock skills

  • Working knowledge of Cloud technologies
