Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Cloud Elements is a cloud application developer and integrator based in Denver, CO.  Our customers are leading SaaS providers such as Hubspot, Zendesk and Kissmetrics and we've partnered with Salesforce, Box, Marketo, Google and others.  We're hoping you will help us grow that list!

Given that our customers pay us overtime customer satisfaction, retention and growth are keys to our longevity.  In this role, you will be a major contributor on the Customer Success Team making sure we deliver quality solutions to our customers.

We are looking for somebody who's passionate about all aspects of Quality. You will develop an effective testing strategy that combines an appropriate level of automated and manual testing. Your challenge is to understand the technical details of the product, the user features, and the use cases of our customers.   In order to be successful, you will need to understand software from a usability perspective and can translate that into viable deliverables for the end user as well as internal teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Review requirements and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases

  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with Delivery Engineers & Delivery Managers

  • Identify, record, document and track bugs to resolution

  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved

  • Willing to do black box manual testing but highly motivated to script automated test suites

  • Develop tools and processes to improve the quality, efficiency and completeness of tests

  • Coordinate testing with other team members, internal users and customers during UAT

  • Problem solve with Delivery Engineers to ensure robust and usable products are delivered to customers

About you:

  • 3-5 years of software QA test and development experience

  • 4-year degree, preferably in CS or another technical field

  • Experience with Javascript and Java

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Strong understanding of Rest APIs and test approaches

  • Adept at reading and understanding API Documentation

  • Extensive hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing

  • Agile/Scrum development process and with Agile tools similar to Jira

  • Familiar with bug tracking tools and test case management tools

  • Enthusiasm for “breaking stuff” - be highly driven to find bugs and help us develop the best products on the market

Working knowledge of the following:

  • A wide variety of Cloud technologies

  • Selenium

  • Javascript and NodeJS

  • Comfortable with Unix shell

  • UI and Server/Service Testing

Bonus points if you have:

  • Chakram and Mocha Experience

  • Postman knowledge

  • SQL experience

  • JUnit skills

  • Working knowledge of Cloud technologies
